Baden-Württemberg Exchange Program

Summer Orientation 2008
September 8 - 18, 2008

Welcome to Portland State University and the city of Portland, Oregon!

Portland State University is proud to be the host site for the OUS Baden-Württemberg September Orientation Program, which will prepare you for your new life as an international graduate student in the United States.

The Oregon University System and Portland State University (PSU) have prepared an informative, helpful, and interesting orientation schedule that will provide you with a head start on American culture and university life.

The BW Summer Orientation will be held on the PSU campus, located in the heart of beautiful downtown Portland, Oregon. Your daytime hours will be very busy with useful orientation sessions. In the evenings, you and your BW colleagues will have an opportunity to explore Portland, shop, and take care of post-orientation arrangements such as finding and setting up your future housing. You will also have two opportunities to travel to your new universities (UO, OSU, and WOU) and towns (Eugene, Corvallis, and Monmouth) to visit the campuses and look for housing.

You will be staying in Ondine Hall, a large residence hall on the Portland State University campus. PSU student facilities such as library, gym, recreation center, cafeteria, and computer labs will also be available to you during your stay.

Oregon CoastThe orientation program will include a 3-day camping trip to the Oregon coast. This fun outing is designed to introduce participants to Oregon's history and great outdoors, and to provide an incredible friendship-building experience.

At the end of the orientation on September 18, PSU and other OUS schools will provide transportation to your respective universities.

We hope you enjoy this unique introduction to Oregon and the USA.
