Portland State University

Harrison HallEstablished in 1946, Portland State University is Oregon's largest university. The campus population is very diverse, enrolling about 25,000 students (10,000 in the summertime) from many backgrounds and of varying ages, including 1200 international students from 90 countries.

PSU is a large, comprehensive, public university, offering move than 100 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the liberal arts and sciences, business administration, engineering and computer science, fine and performing arts, urban and public affairs, education, and social work.

The campus is located on 53 city blocks in the heart of downtown Portland, centered around the green South Park Blocks, which are reserved for pedestrians and bicyclists. The campus merges easily into the neighboring downtown area, surrounded by shops, theaters, restaurants, and cultural, government, and entertainment centers.

PSU is well-served by Portland's mass transit system which includes buses, trains and a streetcar with numerous stops on campus.

The BW Summer Orientation will be conducted by the Office of ESL and International Special Programs, which organizes special programs for visiting international groups. In addition to four permanent staff, many PSU students, including graduate students and international students, work in our office during the summer.

PSU student facilities such as the library, gym, recreation center, cafeteria, and computer labs will also be available to you during your stay.
