English Language and American Culture Winter,
Spring, and Summer Programs for University Groups A 1 to 4-week intensive
English language and American culture program that is customized for each group.
Programs typically include morning classes and afternoon and/or weekend activities
and excursions. Upon request, programs can incorporate specialized lectures, content,
guest speakers, industry visits, excursions, etc. Housing arrangements include
homestay families, campus dormitory, or a combination of both.
Summer Program
for High School Students from Taiwan A 3-week intensive English language
and American culture program. ESL classes are complemented by cultural and recreational
activities. Students stay with Portland-area host families. Semester/Year
Abroad at PSU for University Groups Programs vary in length between 3,
4, 6, 9 and 12 months and follow PSU's quarter system calendar. Groups enroll
full-time in PSU's Intensive
English Language Program (IELP) or combine part-time study in the IELP with
customized American culture, computer, PE, and other skills-based or content-based
courses. Participants
live in dormitories, off-campus apartments or with host families. >>

Plus Program for University Students
(Winter/Spring/Summer) March 8-20, 2004 August 17 - September 12, 2004
A 4-week open-enrollment program available to individual students or small groups
of students from specific institutions. Classes include intensive English language
and American culture, offered in the mornings, plus a daily afternoon seminar
on a special topic area, such as cross-cultural communication, American business
practices, or TOEIC test preparation. The afternoon seminar features guest lecturers
from industry, site visits, and practical experiential learning. Participants
stay with homestay families. Program requires a minimum enrollment of the participants.
